Mi Casa : Mexican Restraunt

Today 2/21/14
My mom and I went to this Mexican food restaurant called Mi Casa. It is a nice little restaurant about 14 tables. Some days it is quite busy but most days there isn’t a big rush for a table. It is a nice little hole in the wall place in a little strip mall.

Let us start with the service. I must say we have been going there very recently and each and every time we are there we get amazing customer service. They are fast to get the food to your table. You also get your chips and salsa pretty much right away.

Now the atmosphere is very homey. They have a sign on the wall that says “my house is your house” in Spanish. It has a very nice and fun Spanish feeling

Now for the food, let’s see how to put this?????  Amazing, yummy, flavorful, awesome I cannot think of the words that explain this food. It is just amazing I highly recommend trying it. The chicken tacos are my favorite along with the carne asada tacos. My mom loves the torta cubana. We have not had anything we haven’t liked.

El Troito

 9-19-13
My friends and I went to a Mexican restaurant called ElTorito. It was between classes so we decided to go out for lunch. It was not very busy at all. We sat near the bar where no one was sitting except when we were getting ready to leave.

The Food: The food came out piping hot. But we didn’t have time to let it cool down since we were a little worried about being late (but we weren’t) . But we were very happy with the food quality. My friend had a   sizzeling enchilada and my other friend had a plate of taquitos and then I had  a plate of nachos (which were yummy) My two friends had coke to drink and I had a “sprite” (which tasted funky But I drank it any way)
The Ambiance: It was very quiet but that was because there wasn’t many people there. I mean there was a few familys but not many. And they were not blasting music (which they normally do) but all around we had a very pleasurable time.

The service: They were a little slow even though there was no one there. But the guys were very on top of things. We asked for the bill early but they didn’t give it to us until we were pretty much screaming ready to leave. But all together they were ok.

What we had:
 The free chips and salsa

my  ''no bull'' nachos

 sizzeling enchilada
two taquitos

The Katella Grill

The other day my mom and I went with our friend to the Katella grill. This has been here for as long as I can remember. Even though it is older it has very good food.

The ambiance, It was an older place but very cute on the inside. It wasn’t that loud. It had the older green booths and wood paneling on the walls. They played country music (which I love) over all it was ok on the inside.

The food, The good was very very good they have very good fries. The steak was ok it could have been better in flavor. The chicken fried streak was good and the gravy was awesome. The pancakes were the best I’ve ever had (from out)

The service, The service was immaculate you didn’t have to wait for service. Your drink would ever reach bottom. Our waitress was on top of everything if you are done she was there to take your plate away. The food came out fast and with good taste and portions .

What we had:

 Cheese steak sandwich.
 Chicken fried steak.

  Top sirloin steak

The Waterfront Café

On 7-25-13 My mom, Grandma and I went to this restaurant called the Waterfront Café. This restaurant has been around forever it seems. I must say as many years as they have been open the food quality has not gone down. This is a classic diner that has been overrun with little porcelain pigs. Although it is a bit much they are rather cute in my book.

The service: The service here is good, Fast and very nice. We were waited on by 2 servers. The man was very nice. The woman she was very sweet and they both were very attentive. They never let our glasses empty.

The atmosphere:  This is a very classic dinner as of the way it is decorated. They have the (older style colors) pink and teal colors. Everything is dated (*so I guess you can say you are taking a trip back to the 80’s.

The food: The food here is scattered from American to Italian. All very good and flavorful. I had the chicken alfredo and it had chicken, broccoli, carrots and yummy noodles. Although I wish there was more sauce. My mom had the Fried chicken and she said it was very good. (the only thing about her food was the green beans looked and tasted like they were frozen or canned.) And my grandma had the shrimp scampi she said that it was good. She wouldn’t change anything.

What we had: (sorry they look messed up.... I was trying to play with the pics :D )

Miyako

The other day my mom and I went to a Sushi restaurant named Miyako. It is a place that has been in the little strip mall forever. We were regulars there a few years ago but then we stopped when they changed hands and then they changed hands again. This is the first time we’ve been back in years.
The establishment is very clean and casual. They keep it very clean. I was very impressed. And with the steady flow of people I was surprised how nice it was in this restaurant. The music was not loud at all and it is just a cute little place to eat.
The service, out waitress was very nice and super fast. Every time your drink was low she was there to fill it up. As stated above the food came out super quick. They were very accommodating.
The Food, The sushi here was amazing. If you bite in to a roll they all didn’t taste the same and they all had a god flavor. The crunch roll I had was so amazing, to me it was the best one I have ever had.

I have to say that I was impressed because we ordered 7 rolls for about $52. I think it is an amazing place to eat.

What we had:

The complimentary miso soup

The complimentary salad

Spicy tuna

Spicy Crispy
Baked Lobster

Crunch Roll

Miyako you would get 5 stars from me and a regular costumer.

La Casa Garcia

Yesterday my mom and I went to a Mexican restaurant. It had reopened and looked just amazing it has done a 360 in its appearance.  Frank Garcia has an annual food drive for Thanksgiving  (We Give Thanks)
The difference in the way this establishment looks it outstanding. It went from looking like it was taken straight out of Mexico (or what I thought Mexico looked like) to a nicely redone modern restaurant. When you walk in you are greeted be a host. They have a seating area for when it gets busy and it also have a to go and catering place.
The Service was quick and good. The waitresses were very nice and very accommodating. We got seated immediately. The food came out very fast.
The Food, three words explain the chips and salsa and they are light, yummy and delightful. As I previously stated the food came out very fast and was better than it was the last time I was there (we stopped going there a few years ago because we didn’t know if they were going to be good that day or not)

What we had:
My mom got 2 Crane Asada tacos.
The yummy chips and salsa

Me I had the Crane Asada plate
This is the new look for the restaurant
